These hand-made glass buttons from the 1950's have rightly become prized by collectors for their original and innovative designs. We sell Bimini buttons individually - each with the appropriate trademark - at a cost of about £7.50 - £25, depending on size and quality of design.

Bimini buttons were imitated during the 1950's and 1960's by several other firms - such as the Glass Development Company. Many buttons are not backmarked. We sell 1950's Bimini-type buttons at a cost of £3-£10, depending on size and design.

FIFTIES GLASS

MOONGLOWS:

These delightful buttons originated in West Germany during the 1950's and are prized for their subtle ephemeral tones. Clear glass was used to magnify and emphasise the swirling designs. We sell these buttons on ovals at approx £0.75 per button.

BLACK GLASS DESIGNS:

Although Victorian black glass buttons are not scarce, there are some designs and constructions that are especially pleasing and collectable. These include the finely moulded "fabric" types, intaglio and relief designs, as well as those with pictorial themes. We sell 19th century black glass buttons individually at £3-£10, depending upon scarcity and design.

These 19th century buttons are the pinnacle of glass design. They have a particular elegance, especially those examples made in the Art Nouveau style of the late Victorian era. We sell these buttons individually at prices ranging from £3-£15, depending on size and quality of design.

VICTORIANS

Victorian black glass buttons were often embellished with metallic lustre trim, especially in silver. This has the effect of highlighting the finely moulded designs. "Fabric" types and floral designs predominate. We sell these buttons individually at £3 - £15 depending upon size and design.
